HARVEST SHARE Fruit Box. From Field to Heart, Starting November
Harvest share for fresh fruit: seasonal boxes from community-supported agriculture – delivered to You, carried by a Europe-wide community.
Fruit box »Avocados«
A box contains around 13–27 avocados, usually 15–20 pieces depending on size. They ripen gradually and can be stored in the fridge for up to two weeks – not all are ready to eat at the same time.
The fruits come from Apostolis’ farm in Crete, cultivated in mixed plantings with olives and citrus using regenerative methods. All are hand-harvested and delivered untreated.
This way, you can enjoy fresh and creamy avocados over several days – straight from solidarity-based farming.
This product is only available for community deliveries.

Fruit Box Harvest Shareper year
HARVEST SHARE »Avocados« – Avocados with character, fresh and nutty, hand-harvested from Crete’s coastal gardens
Our fruit box »Avocados« brings the fine creaminess of the Mediterranean straight to Your pick-up point. The fruits come from Apostolis’ farm in northwestern Crete – where various avocado varieties grow in mixed cultivation with citrus trees, embedded in a vibrant ecosystem. Irrigation takes place only during the hot months of July and August – sparingly, using collected rainwater and one of the most efficient irrigation systems in Greece.
The avocados are cultivated naturally, on a small scale, and with regenerative farming methods – in a region that TEIKEI members already know and appreciate for its olive oil.
Once the avocados reach their perfect stage of ripeness, they are hand-harvested, carefully sorted, and prepared for shipment. The varieties change with the season – usually Fuerte or Hass – and stand out for their fine texture, mild nutty flavour, and exceptional freshness. During the ordering process, You can choose from different package sizes – ensuring the share fits perfectly for Your household or Your next breakfast gathering.
»Avocados« are the ideal fruit box for anyone who values simple ingredients of the highest quality. Whether on bread, in a salad, or combined with TEIKEI olive oil for a creamy pairing – this fruit brings healthy fats, flavour, and a strong sense of origin to the table.

Avocado tip
The pit of an avocado can be grown into a beautiful houseplant. Wash the pit, insert a few toothpicks on the sides, and suspend it over a glass of water with the pointed end facing up. After a few weeks it will sprout roots and a stem. Once planted in soil, it grows into a decorative plant – a lovely way to keep the connection to the fruit’s origin alive.
The avocados come from the farm of Apostolis Mylonakis in Fournes, ZIP 73005, in northwestern Crete. Apostolis farms regeneratively, using minimal irrigation (only in July and August, with collected rainwater) and cultivating avocados in mixed systems with citrus and olive trees. The main varieties are Fuerte and Hass, known for their creaminess, mild nutty flavor, and exceptional freshness. Each fruit is hand-picked, carefully sorted, and packed directly on the farm.
Our fruits are harvested only after Your order and at perfect ripeness. They are then packed fresh and untreated, cleaned exclusively with brushes and without water (to protect local water resources), directly into the cardboard boxes – ready for You to pick up just a few days later.

Check your avocados upon arrival for bruises or small damages.
Consume these fruits first.
If you discover any mold, remove the affected fruits from the box.
If storing the fruits outdoors, protect them from frost, for example with a blanket or in a styrofoam box.
Please follow the instructions on the label.
Gently press the flesh. Ripe avocados yield slightly to pressure. Avoid mold formation by consuming them in time.
MAXIMIZING SHELF LIFE
Store avocados at a temperature of 2–8 °C and a humidity level of 90–95%. Place them in a damp paper bag or cover them with a moist kitchen towel to maintain humidity.
Please follow the storage instructions on the label.
ACCELERATING RIPENING
Avocados are climacteric, meaning they ripen well after harvest. Store the amount You plan to eat soon at room temperature together with apples in a paper bag in a warm place. Once the flesh yields slightly to gentle pressure, the fruit is ripe.
Natural pest control: In our food forests, we rely on natural pest management. By planting a wide variety of plant species and maintaining a healthy ecosystem, we avoid the use of chemical pesticides. This not only protects the environment but also supports soil health and biodiversity.
Compost enrichment: Our partner Apostolis works with high-quality compost from a compost refinement facility in Kalamata. This nutrient-rich compost improves soil quality and supports the healthy growth of our avocado trees. By using locally produced compost, we reduce waste and promote the circular economy.
Through these sustainable practices, we contribute to environmental protection while guaranteeing You the highest quality and enjoyment. Experience the difference and support an ecologically conscious product.
